We evolved over the years guided by a team of dedicated volunteer staff into one of the most entertaining contemporary bands around today.

AYMB, based in the rural Midlands in Atherstone, are a non-profit making charity whose goal is to provide musical education and fun activities for people of all age groups, both young, and young at heart. We have a history of competitive success, and a tradition of innovation and excellence.

 

A Message from Michelle Cheney - Corp Director

I took over the reigns at AYMB in March 2003 and the rest as they say is history. It's been a hard slog and there have been many days when I have asked myself why I took this job on, and I'm sure there will be many more days when I ask myself the same question.

I have met some remarkable people and every single member of the band is a precious person in my eyes. I hope to increase the size of the band in the future with the introduction of our cadet corps, and I am constantly on the look out for new instructors who can bring fresh ideas and talent into the group. I hope that Atherstone will be proud of its band and that for many years to come we will continue to prove, as I believe we already do, that young people can make great contributions to society.
